Why do you wear makeup? TAG | The Cute Little Beauty Blog

Hello Hello Hellooooo

I was tagged by the lovely http://thebeautyspotbloguk.wordpress.com/. Her blog is fairly new, and I am so glad she tagged me. Any who, let us begin the tag.

WhyDoYouWearMakeupTAG

1. When did you begin loving makeup?

I began loving “makeup” around 10 or 11 . And makeup is in quotations because it wasn’t the true makeup I used today. At that age, I applied shimmery lotion to my face (not super shimmery, more radiant I mean), my Hello Kitty Apple Balm, pink nail polish and a palette of light blue eyeshadow.

2. How do you feel without makeup?

I feel okay without makeup. I actually don’t wear or own foundation because I thankfully don’t have bad skin. I am a little insecure with my dark circles though, I cover them up every day. I guess I don’t feel bad without makeup but like anyone I’m a little insecure 🙂

3.  What do you like about makeup?

I like it because it’s fun. It’s a way to change your appearance and you can reflect your personality and style through the colour of your eyeshadow or the shade of lipstick you’re wearing. It’s also an art, being able to apply “paint” to your “canvas”.

4. 3 Holy Grail items?

Ummmm……. Lets do one of each (eyes, lips, face). For lips, hands down my Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia. It smells heavenly, is creamy and really moisturizes my lips. For eyes, I’ve been loving Wet n Wild’s ‘Walking on Eggshells’ eyeshadow trio. For face, my Nars Creamy Concealer is a must!

June Favourites 2014

*Little apology, this is a little late, but I lost my power for an entire week, sorry! Also I wanted to get some content out but wasn’t able to take any pictures, so I found some online, but they are all of the exact items!

It’s that time again, when a new month is born!

I didn’t do a monthly favourites last month, so I knew I had to do one this month! So let’s begin before I get into a ramble..

JuneFavourites2014

Makeup in the Summer for me is none or minimal, so I like wearing super light and natural looking products. For lips, my Almay Liquid Lip Balms are A-Maz-Ing. The shades “Blooming” and “Rosy Lipped” are my all time favourite of the shades, as they’re very natural. What I like about these products is they’re a 3 in 1. They are moisturizing, glossy, and at a tint of colour which is perfect for the summertime! I always have one in my purse for easy access. Another plus, they’re only seven or eight dollars! (Read my review of the shade ‘Blooming’ here: https://thecutelittlebeautyblog.wordpress.com/2013/08/09/almay-liquid-lip-balm-review-blooming-pink-pout/)

Screen Shot 2014-07-12 at 9.05.37 PM

Like I stated above, I like to go pretty light on makeup, but when I use it I always use mascara! It just does wonders at opening up the eyes. Alas, I’ve been using a combination of two lovely mascaras! The first one, that I apply one coat of first is the Maybelline Great Lash with the heart shaped brush, I just love the length and separation it gives to the lashes (side note- I find the formula gets better and better the longer it’s been opened). Then, over top I apply a coat of Lancome’s Hypnose Doll Mascara because it adds more length as well as the perfect amount of volume. The combination layered it just fantastic and I adore it.

Summer is the season for messy, beachy waves and I’m blessed with natural curls, but I do love amping them up! For that, I’ve been using three lovely products to get the job done. Firstly, when I’m in the shower and I’ve shampooed my hair, I use the John Frieda Frizz Ease Curl Conditioner. I live it in while I shower (so like 5-10 minutes) then I wash it out. I’ve noticed with just that product alone, by hairs curl has just been more curly, and even softer! After I’ve showered I come in and apply my Not Your Mother’s Kinky Moves Curl Cream, which helps to amp up my natural curls even more. Lastly, when my hairs not soaking but damp, I apply beach spray from Garnier and scrunch and twirl my hair, to give lovely loose beachy curls. And on days I don’t wash my hair, I apply the beach spray to rejuvenate it. Overall, it’s a great trio to perfect that imperfect beach hair!

Fashion wise, summer is one of my favourite times to get dressed! I just love the styles and trends. This month, I’ve been loving my cream crochet shorts I purchased from Wal-Mart in the early springtime, they just are really pretty and I love the detail. Also, I love muscle tees and crop tops for the summertime and have been wearing the heck out of one I got from American Eagle that says “MTV” on it (Pic below is be wearing it!). Another one been wearing non-stop is a cropped white muscle tee with a watermelon graphic on it! It was only 5.95 at H&M (Pic below is of me wearing it!).

Screen Shot 2014-07-12 at 9.17.46 PMphoto-63photo-64

I definitely up my music game come summertime, but instead of rambling on twice about my top tunes, I’ve just posted a summertime playlist of my fav tunes! Read it here: https://thecutelittlebeautyblog.wordpress.com/2014/07/01/my-top-tunes-for-summer-lana-del-rey-calvin-harris-and-more/

I also thought I’d give a shoutout to my favourite Youtubers this month (and there are a lot), instead of saying anything about them, just click each name to be brought to their channel, so you can all experience they’re awesomeness! Tyler Oakley, BeyondBeautyStar, Asypn Ovard, BeautyBaby44, MissMeaghanMakeup, Zoella, Kailee Mackenzie, and EssieButton.

See ya in a few days lovelies!

Makeup Haul | Marcelle, Mac, Nars, & More! | #TheySeeMeHaulin | Summer 2014

Hey There Beauty Cuties!

I have a makeup haul here for you lovely people today! It include some luscious lippies, fab eye products, and some little odds and ends. With that said, here’s the haul!

HAULLAAALIPSS

  • NYC Expert Last Lip Color in ‘Smooch’: I saw this little lassy on the end of an aisle the ‘NEW’ sign catching my eye. I ruffled through the colours, coming out with this MLBB shade. It’s a lovely, creamy, pink that I think will be perfect to just keep in your purse for any occasion. The only negative thing with this product is it can settle into fine lines if your lips are too dry so be sure to apply a smidgen of lip balm before applying!
  • Nyx Butter Lipstick in ‘Fun Size’: I’ve heard glorious raves about these new lipsticks, so I jumped onto the bandwagon. I chose yet another pink (it is my forte) but it leans more on the nude side. It’s really creamy, glides on smoothly and helps to moisturize the lips. It also has quite good colour payoff, though was a tad sheerer than I anticipated.
  • Nyx Butter Gloss in ‘Angel Food Cake’: This gloss was recently released as one of the new shades from the Butter Gloss line, so naturally I had to pick it up! It smells heavenly, and gives the perfect my lips but better shade. I’d be great for when you want colour, but shine also!

HAULLAEYES

  • Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner: I’ve been wanting a liquid eyeliner for ages and I finally caved! It’s a felt tip liner, and so far I still have yet to master the cat-eye with it (more like a raccoon) but I hope to someday! My only qualm is that it is so difficult to remove (even with Bioderma!).
  • Marcelle Eyebrow Pen: Marcelle recently sent me some more goodies (thanks<3) and this eyebrow been was among them! It is literally an eyebrow pen, and at first glance it made me thing of ferociously dark brows so I was a little hesitant. After trying it, it’s made it’s way to being one of my holy grail brow products. It fills the sparse spots in like a dream! I definitely recommend it to everyone.
  • Marcelle 2 in 1 Retractable Eyeliner in ‘Azurite’: Also from Marcelle, I got a retractable eyeliner in a lovely navy colour. It’s fab for adding a pop of colour to your eyes without being overly dramatic. Perfect for the summer months!

HAULLALITTLEXTARSSSSS

  • Sally Hansen Nail Polish in ‘Discco Ball’: I has been longing for a glitter polish, alas I bought this iridescent glitter polish that adds the perfect touch of glam onto your nails!
  • Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in ‘Vanilla’: I’ve heard so many good things about this concealer, I just had to buy it! And I’m sure glad I did, because it’s so amazing! It’s perfect for dark circles and acne, plus it doesn’t settle into fine lines or look cake-y at all! I think it’s definitely worth the investment.
  • Mac Cosmetics Eyeshadow in ‘All that Glitters’:  This is one of the most famous shadows from Mac along with ‘Woodwinked’, and being a sucker for shades like it, I just had to buy it! It’s a lovely peachy champagne and is perfect to just sweep on your lid and go!

Hope you enjoyed my haul and come back soon for a hair & skincare haul!

Empties #2 | Makeup, Skincare, & Body | Spring 2014

Hey There Beauty Cuties!

The satisfaction of finishing a product is unlike any other, even though it’s just hoarding trash, being a blogger actually gives it a purpose! So here today I’m sharing with you all the empty products I’ve accumulated, as well as whether I would or wouldn’t repurchase it.

Eeempties

photo 1-95

  • Skintimate Shave Gel in ‘Strawberry Tangerine Twist’: Would I repurchase? Yes! I’ve already gone through two. The scent is fabulous, and I keep going back to it. It definitely makes shaving so much easier (and more fun!).
  • Skintimate Shave Gel in ‘Rasberry Rain’: Would I repurchase? No. I was expecting this scent to be more berry smelling, but was disappointed that the ‘rain’ aspect took over.
  • Marcelle Soothing Cleansing Water: Would I repurchase? Yes! It’s marvellous at removing makeup (including stubborn mascara!).
  • Evian Facial Spray: Would I repurchase? Yes! In fact, I already have. I love spraying this on my eyes every morning and rubbing it in, it wakes me up perfectly. Also in the summertime, it’s great at refreshing and cooling your body.
  • Olay Fresh Effects Satin Finish Lotion: Would I repurchase? Yes! It’s a great lightweight moisturizer and perfect for the spring and summer. Though I’m using a Clean & Clear one, I will be repurchasing this one again soon!

photo 4-74

  • Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara: Would I repurchase? Maybe. I really liked this mascara, and the fact it had a upper lash wand and a lower lash wand made it really unique. However, I think the formula could’ve been a tad better.
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion: Would I repurchase? Yes! I really enjoyed it and it made my eyeshadows so much more pigmented and long lasting.
  • Maybelline Dream Lumi Highlighting Touch Concealer: Would I repurchase? Yes! Though my Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is my all-time favourite, this one is great too, and has a great price. It’d definitely be a great concealer to keep in your bag for touch-ups.
  • Bath & Body Works ‘Fresh Picked Apples’ Hand Sanitizer: Would I repurchase? YES! This is the only hand sanitizer I bring around with me, because it’s scent it so yummy but not overly powerful. I’ve gone through at least three of these and will continue to repurchase!
  • Olay Fresh Effects Makeup Removing Wipes: Would I repurchase? Yes! These makeup wipes are really great at removing face makeup, though I wouldn’t recommend them for stubborn eye makeup. They’re also fab when you’re having a lazy night and just need to remove your makeup quickly!

photo 2-97

  • Q-tips: Would I repurchase? Already have! Q-tips are just a great essential, and are such great multi-use tools.
  • Crest 3D White Glamorous White Toothpaste: Would I repurchase? Yes! I love this toothpaste and it does a great job in taking away the yellowness on your teeth.
  • Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste: Would I repurchase? Probably. It’s nice but I like the Sensodyne one better!
  • Sensodyne Rapid Relief Toothpaste: Would I repurchase? Yes! It’s great at relieving the sensitivity of your teeth quickly.

photo 3-84

  • Cotton Rounds/Pads: Would I repurchase? Already did! Cotton rounds are great to use with makeup remover, and so many other things. As you can see here, I’ve gone through at least four packs recently!
  • NPW Nail Polish Removing Wipes: Would I repurchase? Yup! In fact, I already have two more packs! These are a great and easy way to remove my nail polish, and they’re only 3-4$.
  • Nivea Lip Butters in ‘Caramel Cream Kiss’ and ‘Vanilla Macadamia’: Would I repurchase? Already have three more! These are my all-time favourite lip balms. They are so creamy, moisturizing, and smell delicious. Plus, they’re insanely inexpensive!

Hope you enjoyed my empties, and leave a comment below telling me some of your empties!

My ‘Holy Grail’ Makeup Items | Spring 2014

Hey There Beauty Cuties!

HOLYGRAIL2014444yoyo

*NOT PICTURED* Marcelle Eyeliner in ‘Mulberry’: This eyeliner is literally my go-to and I am wearing it 90% of the time when I’m wearing eyeliner. It’s a lovely, deep purple (appears a soft black on the eye) and is super creamy and long-lasting. Also, it doesn’t break the bank at around eleven dollars!

Nivea Lip Butter in ‘Vanilla Macadamia’: I tried this around this time last year, and haven’t stopped since! It’s amazing, moisturizing, deliciously scented, and only three bucks! I’ve already gone through two of these, and am on my third!

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette: I think everybody needs a break from shimmery shadows now and then, and this palette is fabulous for just that. It creates flawless matte looks, and is super versatile. For example, the shade ‘W.O.S’ is perfect for a highlight, ‘Crave’ makes a great eyeliner in a pinch, and ‘Naked2’ is an awesome crease/transition shade. It’s also less then the normal Naked palette my over half!

Benefit Dandelion Lipgloss: I was gifted this little guy for my birthday in December (thanks, mom!) and it’s marvellous. It is a soft light pink (basically clear) but it’s amazing at giving shine, added moisture, smells amazing and is not sticky at all.

Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium: ‘Gimme Brow’ is perfect at exactly it’s name, giving me more brow. It tames and sets the brow, but also adds colour.

Marcelle Eyebrow Pen: This eyebrow pen and the ‘Gimme Brow’ are the perfect brow duo! The eyebrow marker works wonders at filling in sparse spots, and to shape them.

Mac Cosmetics Lipstick in ‘Lovelorn’: This lipstick was not only my first Mac lipstick, but my first ever Mac purchase and I love it! It’s a great pink colour that just adds enough colour to amp up your natural lips.

Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Trio in ‘Walking on Eggshells’: For three dollars, I wasn’t expecting much from this little guy, but I’m so happy it proved my wrong! The eyelid shade is awesome, I’m literally wearing it on my eyes as I write this. It’s so amazing, silky, and pigmented, for three bucks it’s a steal!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in ‘Vanilla’: This was also in my March Favourites (Read it here: https://thecutelittlebeautyblog.wordpress.com/2014/04/01/march-favourites-2014/) and it’s great. It works amazingly at hiding dark circles and blemishes, doesn’t settle into fine lines and is long lasting. They also have an awesome colour range so everyone can find their perfect match!

Hope you enjoyed my ‘Holy Grail’ makeup items, and comment down below YOUR fav makeup items!

March Favourites | 2014

Hey There Beauty Cuties!

photo 1-96

Just wanted to quickly say my hibernation week (one week off the blog!) has payed off, and now I have over 20 posts completed for you guys!

I can’t believe it’s already April! With that said, I bet you’ve seen a flourish of March favourites popping up as much as the flowers outside! Alas, here I am to add another one. I have some beauty, tv, music, app, and youtuber favourites so enjoy!

Beauty:

  • Nyx Butter Lipstick in ‘Fun Size’: This is a newer product in my collection (See my haul here:) and I adore it! It’s a light creamy pink-nude. It applies really smoothly (like butter!). Plus, it’s only 5.99$. My only complaint is that you need to apply a little bit of lip balm before applying, because if you’re lips are overly dry, it can extenuate your fine lines. But overall it’s fab!
  • Nyx Butter Gloss in ‘Angel Food Cake’: I was on a Nyx kick, so naturally I have two Nyx favs. This one is a gloss, and it’s absolutely divine! It smells fab, is so buttery smooth, and is a lovely dark pink-mauve colour. It’s great when you want some colour but some shine as well!
  • Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Dry Shampoo: Herbal Essences recently released three dry shampoos and with my love of Herbal Essences and laziness, I just had to try it! It smells so great, and is great at lessening my greasy hair! It also has natural tapioca which is fab!
  • Marcelle Eyebrow Pen: I was sent this by Marcelle and it’s been my go-to eyebrow product since! I simply draw in the sparse areas of my brows and BAM by brows look A-Maz-Ing.
  • Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in ‘Vanilla’: Yet another new product (I went cray this month, I know) and it’s now my favourite concealer OF ALL TIME. It suits my skin tone exactly, doesn’t settle into fine lines, masks dark circles, and blends effortlessly. Even though it’s expensive, I think it’s definitely worth it.
  • Rimmel 60 Second Nail Polish in ‘Mintilicious’: Usually I only paint my nails with a colour once in a month, just to change it up. But, this one is so amazing that I painted my nails with it not once, not twice, but FOUR times. It’s just the perfect mint, it goes on without any streaks and is perfectly opaque in two coats!

Music:

  • “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors: I just love this song because it makes me feel so happy and boosts my mood and energy. \
  • “Life Your Life” by T.I and Rihanna: This song is an oldie I’ve recently rekindled my love for! If you haven’t listened to this I definitely recommend you do.
  • “Electric Feel” by MGMT: Another oldie but goodie! It’s just a fun, upbeat song and is just great to listen to in the background when you’re on the computer.

Entertainment (TV, Apps):

  • Ice Cream Jump: This is my latest addicting iPhone app and if you’re one to get hooked on the popular apps (Candy Crush, Flappy Bird, etc) you’ll love this just as much! It’s really fun, and just totally a guilty pleasure game.

photo 1-2

  • “Gossip Girl”: I finished ALL of the seasons (They have all six on Netflix!) and it’s totally fab. Just be warned, unlike the rest of the seasons, season six only has ten episodes. So, don’t be like me and don’t realize that there was only ten after watching the finale.
  • “Once Upon A Time”: This TV show is my latest Netflix binge and I’m really enjoying it! It’s a great break from my Gossip Girl, it’s plot on the completely other side of the spectrum. In a nutshell, all the fairy tale characters you’ve ever known have been sent to a small town in Maine and it’s all the problems that it entails!

Youtubers:

  • KaileeMckenzie – https://www.youtube.com/user/kaileemckenzie: I’ve always enjoyed her and I think she’s just been really putting out fab videos recently (not that the others aren’t fab) and I just love listening to her!
  • ArdenRose– https://www.youtube.com/user/ARose186: I’ve been subscribed for a while, but for at least four months I haven’t watched her videos (Just because I go through phases of Youtubers I like to watch) and I’ve really been getting into her vids again! She’s just really funny, and the perfect mix of girly and tomboy.
  • BeautyBySienahttps://www.youtube.com/user/BeautyBySiena: I stumbled upon Siena’s channel this year searching for ‘what’s in my bag’ videos and ended up really liking her! So definitely go check her out.
  • MakeupbyMandy24: https://www.youtube.com/user/MakeupbyMandy24: I recently found her channel as well, and just think she’s great!
  • Tati: https://www.youtube.com/user/GlamLifeGuru: Tati is just amazing for showing you products and giving her review of them. If you’re looking for a lot about products, she’s your gal!

Also please give me some recommendations for Youtubers!

Hope you enjoyed my favourites and please leave me a comment below telling me your fav products this month!

January Favorites 2014

Hey There Beauty Cuties!

JanuaryFavs2014#1

It’s the end to the first month of 2014, wow! And with that, a January Favourites post was in order. Enjoy my favourites, including some jewelry trinkets, haircare goodies, music favs, & more!

Skincare Favourites:

Janfavs3jpg

As far as skincare goes, I have three favourites this month. First up, is my Free Clay Mask in Mint & Lemon. It comes out turquoise, and makes you look like a weirdo with face-paint on but nonetheless makes your skin super soft and pampered. The next item, is from the skincare brand “Formula 10.0.6”. I originally saw this brand at Ulta, but now it’s at my local Target. It’s a six dollar toner, and has been fabulous for diminishing my pores and tightening them. It also comes out orange, which I find super fun (as you can see, I like my skincare routine colorful!). Lastly, I have my travel size “Total Moisture” face cream from Benefit Cosmetics that I got in the January Topbox (Read that post here: https://thecutelittlebeautyblog.wordpress.com/2014/01/21/january-topbox-2013/). It smells amazing, like a light delicate perfume, but at the same time in no way overwhelming. Though it is quite thick (perfect for winter) my skin absorbs it quite easily. I gave one of the samples (I also  got one in the Benefit Advent Calendar) to my mom, and she adores it!

Makeup Favourites:

makeupfavsjan2014

Makeup wise, I have a whole ton of favourites. First up, is my Marcelle Lengthening & Curling mascara. It makes my lashes super long, clump-free and gorgeous. Also on my eyes I’ve been loving the trio from Wet n Wild in “Sweet As Candy”, particularly the eyelid shade, a frosty pink. It’s really nice to swipe over the eyes and give a gorgeous look without looking like you have pink-eye. It also would be a great buy if you’re enticed by the rosy-hues of Naked3 but no so much on the price. Lastly for the eyes, I have this golden cream shadow from Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Metal line. I actually got it for my birthday (read my birthday haul here: https://thecutelittlebeautyblog.wordpress.com/2013/12/24/what-i-got-for-my-birthday-2013-blogmas-day-24/). It’s superb for when you’re having a late morning and only have time for one eyeshadow, you just swipe it on and go (Plus, it really brightens your eyes!). When it comes to face, my three mini Benefit Cosmetics have been my besties. Hoola has been the perfect contour, and I’ve actually been using it on my neck also to give me a more warmed up look. Dandelion is a brightening light pink face powder, but being the pale person I am, it works spectacularly for a light barely-there blush. The POREfessional also has been great for smoothing and diminishing the looks of my pores. As for lips, my Mac Patesserie has been on my lips so much this month. It’s a lovely natural warm nude.

Haircare Favourites:

haircarefavs2014

My shampoo and conditioner changes up constantly, so seeing a new duo this month is no surprise! This lovely John Frieda Frizz Ease set was sent to me by John Frieda Canada. I noticed a difference automatically, it’s been making my hair super soft, shiny, and has been keeping my curls up nicely. After the shower, my Herbal Essences Honey I’m Strong Strengthening Serum has been amazing! It comes out like a golden yellow, and I saturate the bottom of my locks and it’s been helping a whole lot!

Jewelry Favourites:

I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but I’ve been wearing these two so much this month! First is my long gold owl necklace, and it ties together every look, and is the perfect length! Lastly, I’ve been wearing the heck out of this rose gold bracelet from Target, which is a close dupe of the Baublebar bracelet.

Music Favourites:

  • “Happy” by Pharrell: This song literally makes me feel like the name, happy! It’s such a fun, upbeat and happy song.
  • “Tiptoe” by Imagine Dragons“: The beat of this song is great, and I feel really into the song while listening to it, out of Radioactive, Demons, & Tiptoe (which I all love!) Tiptoe is my favourite.
  • “Alone Together” by Fallout Boy: This song like “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark” has a really great beat, and is a really great song.
  • “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic: I’m not going to babble on too much about this song, as most of you have probably heard it but it rocks and I love listening to it!
  • “Sweater Weather” by The Neighbourhood: This is yet another popular song, but also still a favourite! The lyrics are super catchy, and it makes me feel so cozy.
  • “Miss Jackson” by Panic! At the Disco: I’ve had this song since the summer, but recently have been listening to it a lot lately! It has a great variation of speeds, and is really interesting.
  • “The Love Club” by Lorde: Lorde has been by favourite artist, and one of her songs is always my favourite, and “The Love Club” has been my recent fav! It has great instrumentals and I love how her voice echoes.

Hope you enjoy this months favourites, and leave a comment of your monthly favourites below!

Guest Post by Danni of www.gingerbreadsmiles.blogspot.co.uk | Favourite Lipsticks

Hi, I’m Danni from Gingerbread Smiles and I’d like to thank Ali for letting me post on her cute little blog today.

Although I don’t have a vast collection of lipsticks, before becoming a blogger I didn’t have any. Venturing more into beauty has opened my eyes to different products I hadn’t tried before and lipstick was one of them. Through blogging I have become more confident in trying new make-up and I’m really happy that I have!

I’ve been through my small collection and picked three lip products that are my favourite.

1 2

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick – Plum jam

I’d always thought that Soap and Glory were exclusively bath and shower products so when bloggers started posting about their make-up I was surprised. I received a set of 3 of these gloss sticks at Christmas and found that Plum jam was my favourite colour. The colour of this gloss stick is quite a darkish red and the texture is very much like lip gloss which surprised me as it looks like a lip crayon. I’m quite a fan of these and will look forward to trying out the other two colours.

Rimmel Colour Rush – 600 On fire

In 2013 beauty bloggers were obsessed with lip crayons and I was always after one. I picked up this up in Boots when they had a 3 for 2 offer on make-up products. The colour of this lip crayon is a mix between pink and red. The texture is very creamy and moisturising however when this comes away due to eating or drinking the colour still stays on my lips. I definitely want to add more of these to my ever growing collection.

5 6

Body Shop Colour Rush Lipstick – 330 Spice things up

Last up is the range of lipsticks that helped start my addiction, Body Shop Colour Crush. These lipsticks are sectioned by colour into; reds, pinks and nudes. I wanted to start subtle with my lipstick picks so the only lipsticks I own from the Body Shop are from the nudes section. This specific colour, Spice things up, is quite a dark shade but also quite subtle with a hint of purple. I like to wear this when I want something a bit vampier without going overboard. The texture is creamy with a shiny finish.

Have you tried any of these? Which is your favourite?

Top 13 of 2013 | Makeup, Skincare, Fashion, & Haircare!

Hey There Beauty Cuties!

Today I decided to share with you my top 13 items of makeup, skincare, fashion and haircare of 2013! I hope you enjoy my first post of 2014 🙂

Top13of'13#1

  1. Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia: I love this stuff! I got it early spring and actually used it up earlier in December. It is very creamy, smells delicious and moisturizes my lips for hours. And it’s only 2-3$!
  2. Mac Lovelorn Lipstick: This lipstick wasn’t only my first Mac lipstick, it was my first ever purchase! It’s not the most well known shade like Angel or Rebel but it has a special place in my heart. It’s a lovely “My-lips-but-pinker” shade and I adore it! If you’re looking for a beautiful neutral-pink shade you’ve found the one. This lipstick definitely was worn on my lips the most in 2013.
  3. L’oreal True Match Concealer: I’ve tried two concealers and this one is definitely my favourite! It’s creamy but not runny or to thick and has enough coverage to mask my dark circles.
  4. Boar Bristle Brush: I love this brush! It’s boar bristles smooth down frizz and the bumps in my hair, basically a like saviour. They are great, especially for those with long curly hair like me.
  5. Wide Tooth Comb: This little guy has made parting and detangling my hair much less of a chore! I got it at Sephora for 5$ 3 years ago and it’s still my favourite comb to date.
  6. Olay Fresh Effects Satin Finish Face Lotion: Let’s just say I love this so much I finished it! I used it every morning and night for this year and it held up for 6 months. It gives good moisturization and my skin loves it. It was only 11$ at Wal-mart.
  7. Clean & Clear Persa Gel 5: 2013 was not the year for my skin. My skin started to get pimples & bumps so thank goodness for this stuff. It really helps to dry out my acne. The Persa Gel 5 (5% benzoyl peroxide) is only found in Canada but Persa Gel 10 (10% Benzoyl Peroxide) it available in the USA.
  8. Marcelle Eyeliner in Mulberry: This brand of eyeliner is by far my favourite, and this colour in particular (A deep plum, bordering a soft black) is by far my favourite shade. These pencil liners from Marcelle last all day, are very creamy and smudgeproof after 30-40 seconds. And, they’re only 10-12$!
  9. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion: My favourite eyeshadow primer! I have the shade in “Sin” pictured in this post but the original one is my all time favourite but alas, I ran out! Anyways, this is an amazing primer and is totally worth the investment.
  10. Black leggings: These became my staple in 2013 and my good ol’ black pair is my favourite! Leggings go with everything- sweaters, t-shirts, hoodies, peplums, cut-off shirts, practically everything!
  11. Gold studs: Out of all my studs, hoops, and dangly earrings, these simple gold studs are my go to! I probably wore these for at least 300 days of 2013! I actually was given these by my lovely mom, and they were her moms (my grandmother!).
  12. Bath & Body Works Socks: (These are not pictured, sorry!) I’ve been apart of the fuzzy sock fandom for a while now, but these are definitely my favourite kind! These ones from Bath & Body Works have lotion infused in them making them the softest fuzzy socks ever! I wish I could wear these 24/7.
  13. Ecotools Fresh & Flawless face set Concealer Buffing Brush: I love this concealer brush! It’s great at buffing out my concealer but not buffing it all away, so the concealer still works do to it’s job. Out of all the makeup brushes I’ve used this year, this one is my favourite!
